Five Minutes a Night: Home Care Between Visits

27 MAY 2026 · 4 MIN READ · FOOT SPA CAFE EDITORIAL

Guests often ask what to do between sessions. The honest answer is: not much, but consistently. Five minutes a night outperforms an occasional heroic hour. Here is the routine our senior therapists recommend, in the order they'd do it.

One: the warm rinse (1 minute)

End your shower with warm water directed at your feet, and actually dry between the toes afterwards. Damp skin is how most soreness-adjacent problems begin. This is the least glamorous advice in wellness and the most reliably ignored.

Two: the ball roll (2 minutes)

A tennis ball under the arch, standing with light pressure, slow passes heel to toe. One minute per foot. You are not trying to hurt yourself — you're reminding the plantar fascia that it can lengthen. If a spot speaks up, pause on it and breathe once before moving on.

Three: the towel stretch (1 minute)

Seated, loop a towel around the ball of your foot and draw the toes gently toward you until the calf registers. Twenty seconds, twice each side. Tight calves pull on heels; heels complain to arches; arches ruin mornings. Break the chain at the top.

Four: the cream and the covers (1 minute)

Any plain moisturizer, worked into the heels with your thumbs — firm circles, thirty seconds a side. Cracked heels are almost always a moisture problem before they're anything else.

That's the whole practice. Do it most nights and your ninety-minute rituals with us start from a better place — less repair, more restoration. Your feet will not thank you audibly. They'll just quietly stop complaining, which is better.
